Alrighty, here's my 2010 entry for the Federal Duck Stamp Contest. It was very nice that they streamed it live this year, because I was able to see how I did. I didn't make it through the first round, but I was close.
I had two "ins" and three "outs", which basically means (to me) that two of the five judges at least considered my entry and liked it enough to give it an "in". So yes, this naturally means that I'll start practicing for next year. The nice thing about these contests is that even when I lose, I get so fired up about next years contest that it makes me excited all over again.
I hope to get some "professional" acrylics for next year's entry (this is made from cheap craft paint, which I didn't learn until I actually read the bottle). I don't have a watermark on this, so respect that or I'll slap one on.
