Ah, this is the painting that has taken me such a long time to complete! I started it the end of November last year and just finished it up last night. Once again, yes, these greens are that bright. I had the opportunity to photograph it with my mom's new 16 mp camera and full, late morning sunshine, so this thing has loads of color and detail. Overall I'm pleased with this, but as always, there are certain things that bug me.
Many different refs used for this one! Thanks goes to the RIL on WetCanvas and its generous donators, of course, as well as Hysazu for providing me with refs of the Hoh Rainforest in Washington state. I also lightly used some Google images to make sure I got my green intensity correct.
16" X 20" acrylic on masonite. Lol, countless hours...probably close to 40 or more.
I love your not-so-colourful drawings, but this is amazing too!! He really stands out between all that green.
Love elk a lot!
