This is a pencil drawing I've been working on over the past couple of weeks just because I could. I also wanted to test out some new pencils I bought while I was in college, but never opened them. So here you are! I guess this is as close to a Christmas image as you're gonna get from me this year. There's snow on the mountains, so that counts, right?
Lol, anyway, this was initially supposed to be a quicker drawing, but it got much more complex when I started to really like how it looked. And yes, I did fade it around the edges like that in real life.
Derwent pencils, H, HB, 2B, 4B, and little bit of 6B. My own refs and a combination of WetCanvas RIL images used.
I love elk as much as you do, and I really enjoyed watching them when I was in Yellowstone Park! In the country where I live, we havenŽt got such big animals as bison, elk, moose, bears and wolves (the biggest ones are red deer)
I've never even seen a red deer in person, but I think they are very regal and lovely, especially when they're in the mist. Where are you from? I've been over to Europe a couple of times (France and Germany, specifically), but haven't had the chance to be out in the wild areas of those countries.
Me too, I love watching wildlife! Even the rather "common" animals like crows, ravens, hedgehog, squirrels, rabbits, foxes....
What IŽd LOVE to see in the wild are wolves.
IŽm from Germany.
When I was there this spring (Berlin) a friend and I visited the Berlin zoo--very fascinating place! I wish we had a zoo that big here.
