Character Sheet - Aspen

Most of you probably won't recognize this guy, but he's the lead horse in my dream painting, "I Dream of Golden Horses...". He was not only the leader, but he also never turned into wolves in the shadows like the rest of the equines. He had a silvery-blue coat color with silver sheen highlights. His mane and tail were a lighter shade of that same silvery-blue, and his points were a darker shade. He also had these small almost firefly-like orbs coming from his mane, tail, and a little from his back. He's also somewhat transparent, moreso in the shade, and mainly at the base of the neck, girth, and flank (though he cannot entirely disappear). As the visual description in my painting depicts, he can "defy gravity" by running (more like skimming) over the water, but he can't fly.

He's rather plain in comparisson to my other equine characters (and definitely a different color!), but he's really fun to make. I'm not sure of his body type, but it's kind of a larger build, not draft-like, but maybe Andalusian/Mustang cross? As for the name, I had no idea what I was going to name him, but right before I started the coloring, the name "Aspen" popped into my head for some reason and it fit so well, so that's how it goes.

Personality? Haven't thought that through much, but being that Aspen's somewhat "ghosty" he prefers to stay in the forest with his golden herd where he won't be bothered. He's very gentle and rarely hostile. He would rather protect his loved ones by helping them flee to safety than risk a confrontation that may turn ugly.

I'm liking this black realistic outline in combination with semi-realistic shading (rather plain, anyway) so I might try it with a few more of my characters that don't have ref sheets already.
